December 2008
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! It is hard to believe its December and the end
of the year already...
It has been a busy first part of the school year for Lincoln PTA. Our focus this school
year has been on providing more family fun activities. Besides the Fall Carnival, Lincoln PTA
sponsored a “Welcome Back” Ice cream social and a Movie Night for Lincoln families. The
New Year will bring more events with the Scholastic Book Fair is in January (26th to the 30th)
and Desserts with Dad on January 28th to coincide with the book fair. Used books will be
collected and distributed at Book Fair to all of the students. Look for more info in January.
PTA will be sponsoring a staff appreciation breakfast on December 19th. To help out with the breakfast, or future events (Staff Breakfast items needed for December), please contact Kara Goeller at karanancy@yahoo.com (227-1353) or Lisa Majeski at l.majeski@sbcglobal.net (227-9447). Also, Elspeth Pardo has put together a “Snowflake Board” on the bulletin board near the office. This bulletin board has snowflakes with staff needs or requests on them. If you’d like to participate, stop by and select a snowflake (must be selected by an adult!). Once you’ve purchased the desired item, tape the snowflake on the item and deliver it to the office. The snowflake board will be available through January. This is a great way to show appreciation for our staff during the Holiday season.
Our initial PTA membership drive is over. However, if you missed the initial membership drive, but would still like to join Lincoln PTA, (a portion of the fee does find PTA events!) please contact either Lisa or Chris.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank some of our excellent volunteers this Fall... So here’s a big “Thank You” to our Executive Board and all our standing committee chairs and to all those who volunteered at an event, in the classroom, or by joining PTA. THANKS!
The next business meeting will be January 13, 2008 at 6:30pm in the small gym. If you have any questions, suggestions, please give one of us a call, send us an e-mail or send us a note via the PTA mailbox in the office.
Enjoy the HOLIDAY BREAK!
Sincerely,
Lisa Mullen Cimino
