The original book collection of the Lakewood Public Library consisted of 10,000 volumes which had all been purchased and cataloged by Miss Roena A. Ingham, Lakewood's first Librarian. Miss Ingham devotedly served the library as its head until her death in 1938. This page is dedicated to her. |
Local History Files:
The materials in the local history files illuminate many corners of Lakewood's past. As part of an ongoing project, begun in the spring of 1998, the Technology Center at the Lakewood Public Library will be posting electronic copies of the information found in these files. Paper copies of these materials pertaining to Lakewood history are located in the library. Newspaper articles, pamphlets, and other uncataloged materials are processed and arranged by subject in the Files. A full drawer is devoted to historical materials on Lakewood Public Library. Historical photographs are filed separately as well; a large proportion of these are of the library.
